the oldest traditional collective apiary in the world, is called Taddart d’Inzerki or ““Taddart Ou guerram””. It is located in the rural town of Argana in the south of Morocco, 80 km north of Agadir. The apiary is now composed of 279 cells. The production of honey is shared by several tribal douars and remains a valued ancestral heritage. At an altitude of 1000 meters, facing south for maximum sunshine, the Inzerki apiary is intelligently implanted and designed. Built in adobe, the apiary has been transmitted since its construction from one generation to another. It operated partly until the violent floods of 1990 and 1996.The largest traditional collective apiary in the world is reachable by 4x4 by a narrow track. In fields where many aromatic plants abound, linking the past with the present, this apiary has been transmitted from one generation to the next since its construction in the XIXth century
