Monsaraz is a medieval town conquered by the Moors in 1167. With its typical schist streets and whitewashed houses, the town is surrounded by walls and was named one of the 7 Wonders of Portugal, in the Monument Villages category. It is rich in handicraft crafts such as basketry, Alentejo blankets, pottery and works in cork, metal and wrought iron.Located in the heart of the Alentejo, Évora is called a “museum city”. The historic center is classified as World Heritage by Unesco. Its walls surround streets and buildings of historical and cultural richness that have remained virtually unchanged over the centuries.
