Xylitol is a sugar alcohol that is naturally found in a variety of fruit and vegetables. It is widely used as a sugar free sweetener and is regarded as a more natural and healthy alternative to sugar and other synthetic sweeteners. Xylitol is 100% natural and is the ideal substitute for normal table sugar which is both unhealthy and often toxic. As a sweetening agent, the caloric impact of Xylitol is typically about 40% lower than other carbohydrates and sugars, making it a healthy addition to any diet. A recent study showed that while glucose (a type of sugar) caused an increase in blood sugar levels, Xylitol did not produce such a pronounced effect. As blood sugar levels are not affected so dramatically by the ingestion of Xylitol, it also works as a great tool to reduce body fat.
