This route explores twisting singletrack through pine forests on the outskirts of Ronda and then heads out into open countryside and along the Guadiaro River. We finish with a terrific 7km section of twisting, undulating, technical single track which follows the river valley to the doorstep of a favourite local bar. Riding directly from Ronda, we are quickly out of the town and into pineforest, filled with hidden trails which twist and turn though the trees. We catch a breathtaking view of the Tajo de Ronda gorge before heading out to the river, for a quick stop at the Cueva del Gato or “Cat Cave”. This large opening in the rockface marks the end of a network of water-filled tunnels and caverns through the mountain. We then ride up to a path known as “Mr Henderson’s Way”; it is rocky and technical, natural single track which climbs up above the river and follows the river gorge for around 7km. We finish the ride at Jimera Estacion, where you can take a dip in the river if you wish.
