This full day itinerary will introduce you to the fascinating history of Silves and its citrus cultivation, immerse in rural Algarve.We start the tour early in the morning visiting an organic orange farm where a passionate farmer will describe the different varieties of citrus and production techniques, as well as various tips from irrigation to collection. You will pick the fruit yourself and taste a fresh orange juice inside the farmer’s house, kindly opening its door for a light breakfast. We’ll then move back to Silves and walking through the historic cobble streets, we will buy the food for our lunch. We will then pick up the car and move to the final location, a secret garden in the countryside. Here, we will take part to a traditional Algarvian Lunch, preparing a bbq with the food we bought at the market and other local treats. To finish, the icing on the cake: a unique home-made spirit made from citrus and medronho fruits, served with dried fruits.
