Not only the Buffalo Roundup . . . but also Needles Highway, Sylvan Lake, Stockade Lake and Iron Mountain Road. We begin with a 6:15am pickup in Rapid City and a 60 minute drive to Custer Parks South Parking Lot. There we provide a bag chair to relax in and offer hot beverages, breakfast snacks and bottled water. The event ‘usually’ begins between 9:00 to 9:30am. Our guides will inform you of the history of the Roundup and suggest many places to observe the event. At the conclusion of the Roundup we provide a picnic lunch as we wait for the crowds to clear . . . and then on to the Open-Top adventure. This tour offers magnificent 360 degree views of Custer Park: the Wildlife Loop, Stockade Lake, Needles Highway (Cathedral Spires & Needles Eye), Sylvan Lake (beautiful alpine setting) and Iron Mountain Road (pigtail bridges and one-way tunnels viewing Mt Rushmore).
