These unique amino acids (Leucine, Isoleucine and Valine) contribute to approximately 35% of muscle and cannot be synthesised by the body. Therefore, these branched chain amino acids must be provided through the diet and unlike other amino acids they are metabolised directly in the muscle. Generally iBCAA’s are taken by active individuals throughout the day, before and after a workout.
